Can you get any help when on SSP

Was just wondering when your on ssp can you get any help with dental or eyes test and stuff like that???

You may get help if claim on the grounds of low income but ssp dosnt entitle you to any help on its own.

I think its a HC1 that you need to fill in apply for help with health care costs.

That's right it is an HC1 form.

"How do I make a low income claim?

You need to complete form HC1 - this form cannot be downloaded from the web. You must obtain a hard copy. Ring the DH Publications Orderline on 0845 610 1112, to get an HC1 and pre-paid return envelope. Jobcentre Plus offices and NHS hospitals should also have HC1s available. Some GPs, dentists, opticians might also have them.
When you have filled in the HC1 you should send it to: Patient Services, Sandyford House, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 1DB - in the prepaid envelope provided."

Hi

As the other's has said you will need to fill out a HC1 claim, in which will see if you are accepted for free treatment or some towards it. I know when I was on SSP I still had to pay for prescriptions, depending on you and your partner's income on the HC1 form.
