Age for share ownership

Options
Hi all
I'm new to this forum, but hope you can help me.
My son has a couple to thousand saved in the building society and recently asked me whether he could buy shares with the money rather than leave it gaining little interest.
I am keen to encourage him and feel it is a good time to buy shares as a long term investment.
The problem is that he is 15 and I'm wondering whether he can own shares at 15, and is there a specific web site to help youngsters buy shares.

No. To buy shares in his name he needs to be 18. You can buy shares in your name under him but not sure how you do this (sorry!)
