  • Yeah we are going down there next Monday. Just had a quick google around for palladium rings but there doesn't seem to be very many palladium engagement rings?

Mine is from Crown Jules. The shop is quite small, but after not finding anything I liked anywhere else we described what we wanted and they made it for me. Even sourcing the stones specially for it.
  • Excellent, thanks!!!! :D

will definately have to enquire about palladium engagement rings when I am down there then. From what I have read it is just as strong and keeps it shine just as well as platinum, just a whole lot cheaper??

I have always got eveything from Newey's on Vyse Street (the main street) including my engagement ring 6 years ago and our wedding rings the day before yesterday!

We went there yesterday and I really can't praise them enough. Jim took lots of time showing me everything and making me try on lots to make sure I knew what my choices were.

I ended up deciding on a Palladium 2.5mm plain court for the princely sum of.....£70!!! The platinum version is only £180 and most of the other jewellers wanted around £200 for a palladium one, without helping me try anything on. I decided against diamonds set into it, but if I change my mind - it's only £20 extra for each one I want setting in.

Jim even poloshed my engagement ring for me for free and it looks like new again. :j

YAY! Well done. Really glad you got the great help/service we always get. I went for a 3mm plain platinum band a few weeks ago.
  • Not sure when you are going, but hope this helps you and others like you.

got engaged in March 2009 and went to JQ.

we went around a number of shops before stumbling across Cirrus Diamond Dealer Direct on Warstone Lane, B186JJ

Say you were recommended by a friend and ask for Liam (general manager)

    we managed to get:

    platinum band sophia ring
    F
    Sii
    .43 carat
    round brillance
    triple VG
    nil fluorescent
    for £880.

    excellent deal.

BEWARE THEY LOVE THE HARD SALE AND ARE VERY FULL ON, STICK TO YOUR GUNS AND YOU WILL BE FINE!

p.s. you could get a few quotes from other jewellers first and give them the details without the prices and see how they match up, we did and they beat them

    hope this helps

We went to Peter Green and it was lovely. The shop looked pretty ratty but the guy admitted he didnt spend his money on fancy furniture, of new carpet. He just kept the rings cheap!

    We got a:

    platinum band
    .45 carat
    VS1
    princess cut
    colour f

for £795 :) Was well chuffed as this was majorly cheaper than everywhere else. Plus he re sized it in 5 minutes while we chatted to the other member of staff :)

This sounds pretty much exactly what we are after however we may look at palladium.

I would like to try and give this place a call, does anyone have a number for Peter Green's shop so I can give them a ring and find out if they carry palladium? I have searched on google and can not seem to find one.

    Thanks

    P

I asked around a few places when in the JQ however I was informed that Palladium engagements rings are extremely sparse (if any at all)
