Maternity Allowance

Just a quick one!
Does Maternity Allowance always get paid on a Friday or does it differ with each person/area etc? The letter I received about it said mine will get paid on a Friday you see.
Can I also ask, does anyone notice at what time of the day it goes into your bank account? (Morning, noon, night?)
I've been without a wage or MA for 4 weeks now and could really do with it going into my account tonight/in the morning.

It will be a DWP payment so should be showing in the morning... Think I used to get mine on a Tuesday but it was in the old days before direct payments so used to have to go and cash a giro at the post office... Happy days...
Oh, and if they are late paying and need to back date it you should get a lump sum either in the bank or with a giro... I got £700 in a giro because I left it as late as I could manage before I applied...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks Krystal, my letter states that they are going to backdate it for me and it will go straight into my account.
Just checked the bank again and it's not in yet.
I'm so impatient :rotfl:
Fingers crossed it will be there in the morning!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

It's just that when I have money due to go in, it's normally always showing the night before, at around 11pm.
I bank with The Co-op, so wasn't sure if that made a difference.
Mind you, it could be coming for NEXT Friday and not this Friday ~ I hope not, I hate not having my own money! *sob*Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I generally find DWP payments go in on time, always available first thing... But I bank with Abbey and I've never seen money available before 5am on the day it's due... Did it not say in the letter when payments would commence?A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... All it said was that they owed me £X and it would be paid within 6 working days of the date on the letter. Then it said payments would be made every Friday, but if they were going to start paying me next Friday, that is longer than 6 working days, so I assumed it would be this Friday.
Unless the backdated payment can come through any day and my normal weekly payments will start next Friday?
Oh dear, does that even make sense?!:rotfl::rotfl:

Yeah it does... They'll probably start paying it tomorrow with the back payment then... If they say within 6 days then that's when they should start paying...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
