USA Housing Recovery CANCELLED.

Very low, most builds cleared stock houses and now build off plan when plots are sold.
I thought that might be the case, but I wasn't sure. There was a project my son was working on and last year they stopped building altogether, completing houses only once they had sold.
Spain is in the same postition as the US regarding new builds - they have an over supply of about 1 million properties and with historical sales of new builds of about 400k per year they have about 2.5 years of new build inventory waiting for buyers.
Needless to say new construction starts and planning requests have fallen of a cliff there too.0 -
USA seems to be behind the UK in terms of how the recession has effected the house building industry
if the USA was in the same position as the UK based on population figures the USA should be building approx 200,000 homes a year
they therefore have a long way to fall to catch up to the UK
and this doesn't even take into account the 1 million new homes the USA has already built sitting empty which we don't have in the UK0 -
