NXEC train ticket amendment

Hi folks,
Just a silly query. I just changed my friend's rail ticket from Sunday 26th to Tuesday 28th with the £10 fee. His new tickets are via post and old via machine collection. He will have to show his original ticket as well as the new ones the website says. Question is can we collect the machine tickets on ANY day up until Sunday, only on Sunday or up until Tuesday? Doesn't really matter as I am handy enough for the station but just wondering as for the most I always get my rail tickets posted....

Yes, clever. I could phone them instantly but thought I would ask the helpful people on this place.
Keep trolling.0 -

Fascinating!
The next time I want to know the price of a loaf of bread I'll ask a Butcher!
Seriously though, if you knew you could phone them, why ask someone else?
I am sure that we all have a varied wealth of experience and there is a general willingness to help on this site and some very helpful people too, but do you think an unofficial answer will be better than the official one??0 -
I think the 'official' answer would be "it depends". In general, I find that it takes a few hours for my tickets to be available in the machines, and of course they stay there until the time of travel. I have never attempted to collect a ticket after the time of the journey for which it was bought, and I don't think I would leave it this late (i.e. I suggest you collect on or before the Sunday). Their system might have a function to delete uncollected tickets once they are no longer needed.0

Thank you. Honestly some folk get so defensive with a question for no real reason. The contact centre was out of hours. As I said, I can collect the tickets whenever really but obviously some days are more convenient than others.
I've worked in customer services before so I know some people can talk utter rubbish so that's why I wanted a general consensus.0 -
I am sorry, I didn't mean that to sound defensive and perhaps my response was a bit sharp, but the fact remains that it doesn't matter what the 'general consensus' seems to be, the answer that matters is the one given by the rail operator issuing the ticket.0
