Great for grillling bacon rashers, roasting slices of pepper, grilling tomatoes, chicken etc. I have the baby george, because I use it with spray and fry and find the non stick coating wears off after about 9 months hard daily use. Therefore its cheaper to keep replacing the smallest grill, I am now on my 4th! I prefer sausages done on it to grilled by the oven but not as good as cooked in oil.
Even in a moment of madness tried "frying" an egg the other day (had to prop it up so it was level) but this wasn't a good idea as when you close the lid it broke the yolk. Doh!

One of the three items that sits on my kitchen bench. Kettle, toaster and George ! Almost daily use. Chicken, veggies, sausages and bacon sarnies !!

    hi,
we've recently bought the cafe style (floating top plate) forman grill to replace our old decrepid sarnie toaster
We bought the forman grill so we could do other stuff in it as well & its gr8 we haven't used our cooker grill since
its gr8 for toasted sarnies, panini, veggies, & meat i'd highly recommend it (its also got to be more healthy when all the excess fat runs out)
we got ours from tesco online
    check it here
get one they are worth it
    D. :T
Its a tough old world, no one gets out alive!
  • I have a morphy richards copy of a george forman grill.. but it's so much better, it has removable grill plates, so once you've finished, you just pop them into the sink and soak them - i hate cleaning the regular george forman grills. You can also pop on toastie sandwich grills for a different kind of snack.

The old style 'bun warmer' lid always fell off, thats why they adapted it. If you phone them up they will send you a new one. I had for replacements before I gave up and got a good one.
  • I love mine......got it a few years ago and didn't use it for ages...got it out just after xmas when i started diet and am hooked!!

Fave at the mo is salmon steaks......half cook...then sprinkle mixed herbs oven and zap again...delish and sooo fast.

Also big mushrooms with a tiny smear of garlic paste round the gills is heavenly
  • The George Foreman Grill & Griddle is great if you have room for it. We have one at work for those Sat morning bacon sarnies.

Can cook eggs on the griddle side (so no broken yolks).

I have the Big george grill at home and use it all the time (unlike the bread maker i brought  )

Shop around though, if you can get to Makro they often have the Big George for £19.99 + VAT (SSP £59.99) or the Grill & Griddle for £24.99 + VAT(SSP £69.99).
