George Forman Grills..

My friends just informed me that Tesco's are doing the smallest one for £14.99.

I just wondered if anyone has one and makes use of it? I mean I bought a bread maker, and god rid as I never used it! I've just got a slower cooker which I have big plans for! I used to have a tosted sandwich maker, but everything sticks to it! So I was thinking a George F grill would be better and have more uses??!!!

It's not something I'd use much coz I don't eat meat (but my new slow cooker, on the other hand, is getting loads of use! :D ) Although you could do veggies on the GF grill, too.

But I think that model is the one my folks have, and they use it quite a lot to grill steak, chicken, burgers etc - amazing how much fat comes out! Even has a "bun warmer" ;) Guess it depends what sort of food you normally eat.

I've got a George Foreman grill and use it loads. Cooks meat, fish, veggies really nicely and toasts panini really well too.

O forgot to add, this is the most used 'gadget' in my kitchen, along with the v-slicer! I must say though, unless you are on your own, this baby one is too small. I upgraded to this one: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4211778.htm When it was cheap on Amazon, much better size!

There is also one in between, but not sure if it has the temperature thing on it (which is very good for chicken).

I've had the Double knock out grill for about 3 years now.

We don't use it as much nowadays but I have had loads of use from it in the past! OH uses it to do Cheese toasties on too.
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice
  • It is worth shopping around for one - TJ Hughes is a good place. We got a big one that splits in two so you only have to heat half of it if you are not cooking a lot. It was reduced in Currys before Christmas by £30 so it is worth a good look round first.

I use mine all the time - done my first paninis on it this week - fantastsic!

Apart from all the usual cooking I use mine to brown meat etc before it goes in the slow cooker

one of the most used items in my kitchen along with my slow cook

I was amazed 1st time I used it, because it cooks fast I though meat would be dry but pork/chicken/beef all come out tender - its great. fish is good too

the only thing Im not impressed with are burgers and sausages these do become dry

Ive cooked tomatoes, mushrooms and other veg and happy with these too

HIGHLY RECOMMEND one - get the biggest you have room for or can afford

to clean I leave mine till its cold, then put it upto the sink and wipe with a hot cloth (dont use any detergents)- comes up a treat in no time and the mess goes down the sink

    I got mine from Amazon
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T

I love my George Foreman grill. In fact I got a new oven over a year ago & have no idea if the grill works as i've never used it. We also have a huge one for when (if) the sun's out & cook outside on it.
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
