cost for new stair banister fitted.

We have a 1960's semi and want a new stair banister including 2 new newel posts, spindles and landing banister. I want it quite plain, squared and straight spindles in white. Roughly how much is this likely to cost for a carpenter to fit?

My friend is an able DIY'er and just did this himself after buying the bits from Wickes. Worth a go?!

Impossible for anyone to estimate that without knowing the length of staircase involved at the very least. What sort of wood do you want-? -the materials cost can vary greatly.
Does the old banister require removal?
If you then want it painting in white, that will be a separate job for a painter.
