Tree Pruning Gone Wrong

Lady_K wrote:No its been there for years and all the branches were normal until the pruning last year. Its the same as all the others down the street but mines weird now. I've been here 17 years and its been pruned a couple of times by friends but no where near as severe as that and it was ok. I don't know if its wild or not but its just an ordinary cherry tree to me with rust coloured leaves. I've rang a tree surgeon up to see if he can give me a quote and I will see what his opinion is of it and what chances there is of getting back to normal and how long. If I think I can sort it out myself I'll try but if his cost is reasonable and he can guarantee putting it right I prob will let him do it
This is a good example of why at times it is prudent to pay the going rate for the job to be done correctly. We all like to save money but we should remember when paying for a service that a part of what you pay is for the knowledge of the person as well as their labour. I hope you can rescue your tree. The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Yes I agree, so long as you are absolutely sure they are definitely tree surgeons and can prove it. Otherwise they probably will know about as much as you do yourself. Having said that if you really don't have the money and I just did not have the money I had no choice really. The tree was blocking all the light from my windows and grew so big it was touching the house walls. It hung down so heavy people had to walk on the road rather than pavement to get by the house and it was even worse in wet weather. It also effected the next doors telephone reception coz it grew all over that and nothing grew for metres around it because it blocked the light out so much.
If it had been anywhere else further from the house I'd have left it because I do love trees and prefer to leave them as natural as possible. I loved it even though it was massiveStill, can't turn the clock back I just hope it can be sorted out over time
Thanx

My husband is a tree surgeon - qualified and so ask to see their current Insurance certification - this is very important as it costs us £1500 per year for this and has public liability to 5 million pounds worth - its is also advisable to ask for qualifications and make sure they have chainsaw certification - many cowboys do not have these things and then you will have no comeback
Any qualified person will not mind you asking for these things I can assure you
good luck and sounds like a cherryplum tree!Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0
