webcam question

I have a Dell Studio laptop and would like to make a video using the webcam, I can get it to record pictures but not sound, or at least there is no sound when I playback, all volumes are up and I cant think what else I could be doing wrong, any suggestions?

Just a guess as I don't have the Studio laptop...
You say 'all volumes are up' but does that include the microphone? ... and is it selected as your recording device?
Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Audio tab. Click the Sound recording Volume button and verify that Microphone is ticked and set to mid-level.

Also I believe the Studio comes with its own utility for the webcam/microphone (Dell Webcam Center/Manager?). In there there's an option to select the microphone as the Audio Source.

Thanks bluboy, I have done all of that and nothing seems to be working, I have the microphone set to array in everything and still no sound, I just dont understand it and its driving me mad! I bet its something really simple but I just cant get it:mad: Anymore suggestions?
