your friends seem to just be fools with money, nothing to do with the house market. their just clowns and giving away money and then making stupid investments. No news here, just a chance for lostinrates to vent her spleen at friends she has fallen out with. what a nasty piece of work.

And student debt is set to rocket as grants are withdrawn leading to a REDUCTION in the number of students.

Have you got a link to the grant withdrawals? First I've heard of it, and I'm heading to uni with a grant in September!

    Very boring and childish stuff
Mate. You are not in the league of wind up merchants on here. Your 'offering' is very amateur stuff. Maybe if you try the Moneysavers you'll get a result but it's adults only in this section of the board.

Yeah well spotted. I actually meant tuition fee increases. Not yet implemented, but mooted.

What I believe is happening is that the level of salary a student's parents can earn and the student still retain grant eligibility, is becoming lower next year, 2010/11.

As far as tuition fees goes, that's likely to affect student starting their course next year too. I don't think students are usually hit with changes to the rules mid-course, though this govt in their wisdom could do anything!

Either way the number of students going on to uni is likely to drop IMO, with it becoming more expensive and increasing numbers of graduates unable to find work.

Hopefully, you'll be okay with your funding, though, starting this year.
    :)

    PS...Could someone tell BubblesMoney I don't make bags ;-)

FWIW, We have had our house 'valued' for quick sale ( a tiny bit above auction price) for BR purposes and it is back to 2002.
I am the only person here who is willing my house to crawl back to 2000 price by Oct 09.
