Interesting House Sale Price Anecdotal....

If it was non esential it begs the question why at that price? that is around a 2000 sale price.
Was there some problems with the house, seems a very big hit to take.
No problems bar it was tired and decorated -IMO- in fairly poor taste. The seller was coming back weekly at first, to see friends in the area and check the house etc, then fortnightly, now less and less. Life is becoming established in other place and a realisation that it wasn't going to get what they were asking for it (started off at £310k, but I think, but can't be certain, that was the highest price in the area). Chased maket down for awhile, Grumbled at around Christmas time about the level of offers, (was then at £265k) and I suggested at that price I would be looking for under stamp duty level of £250. And it was still fairly hefty compared to what was then on the market. It was no longer most expensive of the group, but a very different beast...a solid older house as opposed to a shiny new build. Its not an ugly house in the least, but its that awkward not old not new. 1950s.
Why now? I think they are a bit bored of waiting and ready to immerse properly in new location full time. Doesn't want responsibilty of letting far away from where they are living. Has thought might put money in a three bed student let near them.0 -
Can't you find anything better to do with yourself than slag off one of the board's most respected and prolific contributors?
You'll find no interest in you here. Talk about a bore!

This anecdotal is getting very interesting. BTL is dead. House prices have further to fall. And student debt is set to rocket as grants are withdrawn leading to a REDUCTION in the number of students.lostinrates wrote: »Has thought might put money in a three bed student let near them.
And still people flock to the Holy Grail of 'investing' in property.0 -

Just showing most people are not reading media like this board and that irrational decisions/timing of decisions will be made. Its life...people do odd things.0 -
