I have 3 credit cards coming to the end of their 0% deals. I have tried to get a new 0% transfer deal, however i am being refused. Even though my credit rating is still good.

If i contact my current card suppliers will i need to transfer onto a new card and threaten to close the card before they offer me a retention deal or should i ring up, tell them i'm thinking of leaving and ask if they will give me a new deal. What do you think. Will they give me a new retention deal without moving funds first.

The cards are with Alliance and Leicester, Barclaycard and tesco.

Just rang tesco, who said they will offer 7.9% for life of balance, however i have to transfer onto another card and back to them. How ridiculous.

Not bad really just a pain with the transferring about. Depends how easy you could find a brand new 0% card at the current time - i'm finding it increasingly difficult!

The problem is that i can't get a new deal, For whatever reason. I just find it stupid that i need to transfer, when they could simply give me the 7.9% offer
