Ooh! I've known this for ages, it's what spurs me on!...to have a parrot and a horse again...miss them both so much!!! Can't wait!:T
  • A return to the US of A this time paid for in cold hard cash not just slapped on the never never . . .

I'd say finally move out but even with my debts cleared on my wages I'm still £250 a month shy of being able to rent + bills & have a life !

    Save !!!! Save !!! Save !!!

I read most of the posts on this forum and found them quite inspirational. I am a DFW and apart from my mortgage hope to be DF by 2011. Most of my debts are associated with buying my house and shorter hours at work, not living a life of excess. On the bright side my loan should be paid by early 2010 which will free up £200 a month :D. This will be used to clear my other debts. In a year and a half when I am debt free I plan to:
    • Get rid of my 2 credit cards once and for all
    • Slowly do the re-decorating that I can't afford to do now
    • SAVE, SAVE, SAVE
    • Spend some quality time with my OH enjoying life like we used to before debt got in the way:rotfl:
Last but not least, learn from this experience and live within my means not beyond them!!!

"Good luck" to all the DFW and "Well done" to all the people that have already reached DF status.

    Anyone else got more plans?

Mines keep changing but I am determined to be debt free by Sept 2010, as been slipping lately and need something to focus on.

After that, a new, bigger house with the OH (either that or emigrate - I wish)!

I am aiming to be debt free by July 2010 or sooner. I sometimes feel as though I am never going to get there (the days just can't come quick enough).

The first thing that I am going to do is take the day off work just to savour in the moment and do nothing.
When I become debt free I plan to save for a holiday - not sure where to.
Save up a big deposit for a house - I live in London.

My biggest gripe is being able to move on from a job I hate and not having to stay because of bills and debts - freedom to choose how I live my life and not be enslaved by my debt. Having savings behind me is a priority - so money for an emergency is a must to cover 6-12 months.

My CCs have been cut up from last year and I don't plan on ever using them again.

Original debt at LBM July 2008, £47, 654.34. Debt at January 2016, £21,443. Barclaycard [STRIKE]£9,000[/STRIKE]£8,756, Tesco cc [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£1,136. Debenhams storecard [STRIKE]£350[/STRIKE]£263, OD [STRIKE]£3,500[/STRIKE] £3,000, Corp Tax £3,036, Study loan £1,750, Smaller debts £2,000.

Since my LBM I have not been fully committed so now I have had a 2nd LBM.

I *will* be debt-free in December 2010 in time for my 30th birthday (Come hell or high water....)

Once this is done, my plans are thus:

    1. Start saving the money that was my minimum loan payment (£130 per month) towards a car
    2. Begin a real emergency fund - mine is currently going to be used to clear the loan early
    3. Save money for solicitors fees, moving costs etc as myself and Mr Fresian want to move to the country, which is why we need the car!
    4. Join the MFW challenges - my biggest debt is really my mortgage! Ideally, I would like to be (whisper it) mortgage free by 40, so this is a huge challenge for me!
Most of all, I want to be happy and unstressed by money.
