BT Ebilling

Just got the following in my inbox:
IMPORTANT: Alert about your BT Internet billing information on file

1. A recent change in your personal information. (eg: billing address, phone)
2. Submitting incorrect information during bill payment process.
Due to this, to ensure that your service is not interrupted, we request you to confirm and update your billing information today by clicking here.
If you have already confirmed your billing information then please disregard this message as we are processing the changes you have made.

Some points:

1. The BT bill is not in my name and therefore, they should not have my email.
2. My boyfriend did not get one, and the bill IS in his name.
3. They've never emailed us to say, 'thanks for your money!'
4. I did, I admit, click the link. The URL was long, but the site looked quite good. Luckily, as the BT account is nothing to do with me, I didn't have any info to put in there!

Checked Google and found this:

    Just hover your mouse over the ''clicking here'' should show you that this is not a genuine email but a phising excercise.
    I got one too - now deleted.

    I had a similar one yesterday from my ISP ( not bt) saying my bill had not been paid. Didn`t click on any links tho`.

    Checked my bill through proper ISP website and no arrears showed, so just to make sure I phoned them up to double check and report the phishing email. Said they had a few reports and they were looking in to the matter.:rolleyes:
