    Hi lala,
You sound as if you're feeling a bit better. I did wonder if you're feeling a bit depressed - having a baby is such a shock to the system (even 10 years after having my third one, I'm still in shock!). Keep giving yourself small targets to achieve and I think if you keep posting on here, everyone will support you. Great suggestions from posters above and you sound as if you're getting yourself in the mood for getting things done - go, girl!
    Best of luck

I'm a terrible house keeper not dirty just very untidy it gets me down sometimes and i then just blitz the place from top to bottom. Everyone is right moving house is the perfect excuse to get rid of everything you dont need anymore. Hire a skip if needed and if its not usefull or beautifull or full of memorys you want to keep then get rid of it. Its amazing how theraputic it is once you get started. I usually start from the top corner and work my way back and down seems easiest and once you get going you will probably find your enjoying it.

Good luck with the move and get the other half to paint your toe nails i do hehe ;-)

Chin up Chick i think we have all been there at one point or another
:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j
  • Could you start with you? If you feel better about yourself again other things might fall into place easier. Ask Oh to look after the baby while you book some treatments at the local beauty salon of a college, they are much cheaper and you could have more done maybe ie a facial, massage, pedicure, manicure. You have already said you are booking a hair appointment so that will also make you feel better.

You're going through a lot of upheaval and changes at the moment, moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do, I don't have kids so can't comment on that aspect, and starting a new job will of course make you nervous.

Looking after yourself is the most important thing. Take yourself off for a good haircut, makeover, and you will feel so much better. I hope you have a removal company moving you - it may be expensive but it is so worth the money, saves you packing, takes the pressure off you and as you move in three weeks you can use that time to freecycle/tip anything you don't want.

At the moment I would sod home-cooking, get to M&S, buy some nice ready meals, you need as much time as you can to arrange the move, job and house clearance - that's extra pressure you are putting on yourself. When you move house and start the new job batch cook on a weekend for the following week.

Have a little bowl or something at your door therefore when you get in put your keys, purse, etc in it, then when you are looking for something you should in theory know where it is.

Sorry, I am a very anal neat freak and totally self-disciplined, what you can do is set yourself a routine in which you do things, I do cleaning on a Friday night, i study for a set period each night, on certain nights I clean the fire, that sort of thing. By having this routine it means that nothing get missed, for example I deal with paperwork on a certain night, I clean the car at a a certain time each week, it is anal but it works for me and it means that I am totally in control of my life and everything is perfect and nothing is amiss.

However, I spent 15 years looking after my ex so this is probably my way of controlling my own life - but it works for me! Good luck and congratulations on the job.

I was thinking along the post natal depression line too....a baby is one of the most disruptive things to come along and the 1st thing to go is looking after yourself....you sound as though you're getting your act together now though, says me, domestic goddess.. NOT!....You def need some "me" time, perhaps OH could have babe occasionally so you could go to hairdressers/meet friends/have girly time/etc then you'd have more energy to do those tedious household chores, won't seem so hard now you've managed to get some order into your life! Good luck!
If you're not sure where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else.......:D
  • Thanks for the support.... I'm not depressed just fed up :rotfl: I got loads done yesterday and crashed out in bed at half ten and had a great night's sleep.

Alyth.....great ideas thanks. I'd love to read your routines (for inspiration and maybe to adapt and use a few of them ;)) if you are happy to post them

    lala x
