Recording Vinyl on to CD's.

I'm hoping to record a lot of vinyl LP's onto CD's and I wondered if the collective wise minds on this board could help.

I understand there is now a device which fits between a record turntable and the PC which is effectively a pre amp eliminating the need for cumbersome hi fi components.

Is this the case please and if so, where can these be aquired?

Kind regards.

Audio out to line in on your computer and then you need some recording software to record the music.
Another way is headphone out to line in on your soundcard and you adjust the volume from the headphone side to make sure it’s loud enough on the computer side.
I think its a little preamp you’re talking about that just boosts the level on the record deck.
If you have audio out on your HIFI then just connect it to the line in on your computer, just set the recording software to record from the line in on the soundcard.
Or the other way is your head phone socket out to line in on your soundcard and by adjusting the level on your hifi you can get a decent level on the computer.
Save the recording as a wave file for cd quality and then get some burning software to turn it into a file to burn on to a cd.
I'm not poor i'm just skint

I did this several years back - as boogie master said put your deck output into the line in on your pc - you shouldn't need a pre-amp.

The software I used was from:-

    Try a free trial.

Very flexible, you can do single tracks, whole LPs, it will take out hisses, pops and scratches.
If you need any support, as I did when I moved it to a new PC, they are very helpful by e-mail, and like most people in Holland their English is good.

Actually I think boogiemaster said to use the preamplifier stage in the hi-fi kit that's there. Direct from the deck to the PC will have too weak a signal with the wrong frequency bias.
