My building and contents renewal arrived and I was surprised to see it had gone up by over 40% and now included a £250 excess for water damage.
I know they are doing a £50 thank you offer and the website implies that existing customers can get it:D......But you can't.....not unless they re quote your policy and then deduct the £50.:rotfl:
In my case it came out at more than the first renewal :eek:
What a good example of customer disservice:rolleyes:
Needless to say I canceled from the renewal date
and have found a better deal already.:j

All insurance costs have increased recently, both premiums and excesses, and it's harder for brokers to place insurance because the insurers just don't want to take on anything even remotely risky. Our broker friend said that he can't even get the insurance companies to return his calls half the time, and anyone with a claim is being subjected to gestapo-like interrogation and investigation.
Our business has been insured by the same company for several years, and we've never made a claim, but our excess increased to £1,200 for this year - we changed companies.0
