Damaged Item Received

Hi,
I ordered a bottle of car cleaning fluid, which I received in a large Royal Mail "Item has been damaged in our care etc." plastic bag with half of the contents deposited in the bottom.
The package appears to have been well wrapped in bubble wrap and tape but the bottle of cleaner arrived only about 1/3 full - clearly the other 2/3s had leaked out on its way to me. I sent the seller photos of how it arrived - just so that they can see I'm not "having them on".
I've received a reply from the seller saying they don't quite know what more they can do about the situation and that it was wrapped really well in sufficient packaging. They also point out that I had the option of adding postage insurance on the invoicing page - though it doesn't offer that facility on the main auction page and the item itself only cost £7
What can I do? Am I entitled to a refund from the seller despite not taking out postage insurance?

You don't have to pay for insurance. It's up to the seller to make sure the item arrives intact - if it doesn't, THEY need to be refunding you and speaking to RM about it.My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Seller refunds you. Seller claims from RM.0

This is the first time I've had any problems with buying stuff from EBay, so I was just unsure about how to proceed. I've now replied to the seller requesting a refund or a replacement item (the latter of which I'd prefer).
Thanks frivolous_fay and Awec!Lack of money is the root of all evil.
