Overlimit fees

The Royal Bank of Scotland has charged me £20 overlimit fees for the last 3 months. The latest for being £176 over the £9800 limit - the £140 interest charges + £20 overlimit fee sends the next months payment above the limit again. They take the min. payment d/debit and I am unable to pay it off until April so have had to endure what they throw at me. I know you are running an article about the banks charges is there something I can do about these continious credit card fees.

  • Are you also paying PPI on the card?

I had a similar problem with a Virgin CC. As soon as the interest and PPI was added back on after my monthly payment it was putting me over the limit again - bang, another overlimit fee. I cancelled the PPI (which was £20 a month on a £2500 balance) and it's really helped me.

Don't know if this is of any help to you. Good luck in getting it sorted.
Why is there always so much month left at the end of my money?

you could cancel the dd for 3 months & go on a short term repayment plan. By the end of the 3 months you'd be back under your limit again. Unless you can pay more than the minimum each month?
