Halifax student account problem

Hi,
I set up a student account with Halifax in September. However, I dropped out of uni in December and by that time I had spent £480 of my planned £500overdraft. I haven't done anything with the account since because I have been looking for a job to repay the overdraft. Unfortunately I haven't found a job yet so the overdraft remains. I don't want to close the student account because I am going back to uni in September so thought I'd still use that account.
I have started to claim jobseekers a month ago today and i'm planning to use that to pay the overdraft. However, I haven't received my first payment yet.
The problem is that today I received a letter from Halifax about inactivity in my account and that the regular payment into the account hadn't occurred (student loan). I have to make a payment into the account within 14 days of the date on the letter, which now leaves me to the 21st, as the letter is dated 7/04/09. I'm now worried that I should have informed them that I was no longer a student and that i'll have to repay the whole of the overdraft and maybe interest. I simply cannot afford this. What is likely to happen?
Thanks for any advice etc.
