Just wondering if you receive their emails advising of the savings rate when they change ?

I get the emails but I have a number of accounts with Egg and working out which email relates to which account is not easy. The details available online don't help establish what the account actually is - when you click to find out the interest rate you are led to a list of accounts - and if you don't know what your particular account is supposed to be, what's the use?

I would have had the details at home if my records had not been stolen. The burglar didn't leave a contact address and Egg don't seem to be contactable either.

Paying money into the Savings account is easy. Transferring money out is fine - even to Egg Money. The problem is moving funds to the Savings account from Egg Money (currently massively in credit but where the interest stops next week). I shall have to move balance from Egg Money to an external account (and that seems to take about a week) before being able to move it back to Egg Savings.

Can't you give them the Egg savings details when you request a bank transfer? If it won't let you if you ring up they should be able to move the money for you, or tell you how!

If the transfer is into the fixed-rate savings account, internal transfers do not qualify for the bonus rate - hence the need to route via an external account.

Anyone else having problems getting written responses out of Egg?

I sent secure message on 8 April and there was still no reply at 10.15 on 19 April. (And they suggest replies take 3-4 days!)

My query starts with my need to know the apparently fixed rate on a savings account. An Egg Money person had told me what it was - which was much higher than I expected.

(I know I should have been aware of any fixed rate and its expiry date but unfortunately a burglary soon after I opened the account meant I lost my record of it.)

I got a swift response to my secure message on the same subject and one of their official rate reduction letters came a couple of days ago saying 2.85%.
