BoS (HBOS) credit card - late payment but damage avoided?

Hi all,

I recently applied for the Bank of Scotland card to take advantage of their 0% 9 month offer. However, today (around 30 days after my first statement) I log on to internet banking to find my account in arrears... although I could have sworn I set up a DD it turns out I didn't (or there is no record of me having done so anyway). So... £12 late charge, slashed limit and stopped promo rate. Annoying after 2 months of the deal starting!

However... I rang CS and made payment for arrears. Also set up a direct debit and have thankfully managed to sweet talk HBOS in to putting my back on the promo rate, refunding the £12 charge and returning my credit limit to the £7200 originally there (they had cut to £1950!). So effectively everything is exactly as it was before this incident. One - I'm very lucky I know!

However, have i truely returned myself to a state of "this never happened". Will the late payment be reported to CRAs? Note that I check this account online everyday so basically have caught this mistake about 5 hours after the payment deadline. Also, will there be a small residual interest charge now for the couple of days the offer was stopped for?

Thanks in advance for you help.

Ben.

If it was only 5 hours late that it will not be reported to the CRA.

If your payment is not made by the next statement date a missed payment is recorded

ok... thanks... having looked it seems like a statement was made yesterday with my payment having been made today. Thus it did go a statement period without payment... so looks like I may still have a late on the CRA files. Wounder.

    Thanks for the info,
    Ben.
