Hi all
Wondered if anyone could help me with an address for Littlewoods and Littlewoods Extra (might be the same). My two accounts with them were with Scotcall, wrote to them asking for CCA and they replied to both letters saying they were no longer dealing with my account and it had been passed back to Littlewoods. I phoned Scotcall to ask for an address but they didn't have one. Can't find it on their website either! Knew quite a few people have had probs with Littlewoods and so thought one of you might have an address for the accounts dept.
Cheers for your help.

Excellent advice - that way you can pay national rate instead of local rate :rolleyes: :rolleyes:0 -

From saynoto0870.com
the cheapest provider to 0870 numbers during the day that I am aware of charges 4p/min (+ 3p connection fee) to call.
Worst still some companies that use these numbers are actually receiving a cut of the phone call costs.
Tootsie roll - 0870 costs MORE than a normal number, which is why I said it. Check your facts before being sarcastic.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Like it says 'that it's aware of' - it's clearly not that aware then as lots of 0870 numbers are local call rates - yes the company called gets a cut but its still cheaper than calling at the national rate.
Apology ?0 -
BT charge 7.51p a minute during the day for a normal 0870 call. :eek:
But, :rolleyes: there are reduced rates for 0870 09, 0870 185, 0870 187 and 0870 188 as shown here0 -
Ofcom is aware of concerns about some aspects of 0845 and 0870 voice services. These include:
0845 and 0870 services are often advertised as local rate and national rate calls respectively. However increasing competition for fixed-line telephone calls has resulted in a broad range of prices and discount call packages for local and national calls to geographic numbers. This means the cost of calling an 0845 number can be higher than the cost of a local geographic call, and the cost of calling an 0870 number can be higher than the cost of a national geographic call.
Few businesses offer 0845 or 0870 numbers alongside alternative geographic contact numbers. But discounted call packages mean that if consumers want to contact organisations close to their homes, they would often be better off making calls to geographic numbers rather than 0845 or 0870 numbers.
Businesses like call centres, that use 0845 and 0870 numbers, may be able to obtain some revenues for receiving inbound calls from the telephone companies providing their service. Consumers have become concerned that this revenue may provide an incentive for some companies to prolong calls.
From the Telegraph:
Government agencies are making millions of pounds every year by encouraging the public to call expensive 0870 helplines, a Daily Telegraph investigation has found.
There has been a proliferation in income-generating numbers, prompting accusations that they are being used as a stealth tax.
Although 0870 numbers are mistakenly described as "national rate", they cost twice as much to call as a 01 or 02 number.
Unlike conventional phone numbers, the owners can take a share of the revenue generated.
Hope that helps clarify the issue.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

According to BT's Price Checker, a 5 minute National call during day-time hours will be in total £0.15p so therefore it is definately much cheaper to call the geographical number than the 0870 "national rate" number.0
