Web hosting with MySQL

I am currently with 1&1, using their basic £4.99/month hosting package which doesn't provide MySQL. I can easily sign up for their £8.99/month package which gives me 2 MySQL databases (exactly the number of instances I am going to need) and I can also get this half price for six months. 1&1 will transfer and then refund my existing package so I can take advantage of the half price offer and not lose out.
However, I'm sure there are better deals out there. I am looking to host two separate domains, one with Joomla, one with phpbb - hence the MySQL requirement. Traffic isn't huge as all my images are on SmugMug, the websites are existing and have a fairly predictable number of hits and amount of traffic - although I don't know what effect introducing a forum on the second domain will have on the traffic. Can anyone recommend a good, professional and cost-effective web-hosting solution that will meet my needs?

GoDaddy looks very attractive. However, it has one serious flaw - you cannot transfer existing .uk domains. You can buy and host new .uk domains, but if you have an existing .uk domain you have to register/park the domain elsewhere and point to GoDaddy's DNS servers.
Both my domains are .org.uk so my next question is, who can people recommend for domain transfer then hosting. Obvious candidates would be freeparking, who I currently use for one of the two domains. Any others?0 -
Sorted - and at a fantastic money-saving price of £0.00/month. The two websites I maintain are for a registerd charity. I suddenly had a brainwave and a quick google query later I was one the phone to the very nice people at http://memset.com
Memset give free web hosting accounts, which include PHP and MySQL, completely free of charge to charities. Can't do better than that. What a great company. All I have to do in return is put a link to Memset on the site.0 -
Just to add I have had a very similar experience with Vidahosts for my charity web site - free hosting with no strings attached (although I did buy two domain names for use through them too).
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
