Can We Fix Our Dvd Player?

Hi all,
Our 2 year old Alba DVD65 player has suddenly decided it will play only some of our DVDs. For example it will play one of our Wallace and Gromit Were Rabbit 2 DVD set but refuses to load the other. We have tried a 3M lens cleaner CD but to no avail. I could replace with a new one for only £23 from Amazon but am hoping to fix instead, thus saving the £23 and the space the binned one will occupy at a landfill site.
Any tips anybody?
Many thanks for reading this.

It will probably cost you more to fix it than £23.
Just treat yourself to a nice shiney new one0 -
Got to agree with yelac21271.
Electronics like DVD players just aren't built to last too long. Lenses tend to pack up anytime after a couple of years. The unfortunate reality is, they're not designed to be repaired, just thrown away and replaced.
At £23, you'd be better off buying a new one.0 -
You can get a reburbished one from MEDIONSHOP for £14.99 plus p&p (for orders under £45 p&p is £1.50 I think):)sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0
