According to "Money Mail" if youve bought anything with Paypal/E-Bay, you not covered by any Distance selling regulations.........surely with new goods this is incorrect?

Since when has the Daily Wail had any credibility ofr accuracy of journalism?
The whole paper is a load of hyped-up scaremongering piffle.
It's a national disgrace that such outrageous journalism should be allowed in this day in age. What is society coming to? It wouldn't have been allowed in my day, and somebody should be held accountable for it.

Allegedly according to the Daily Mail purchases via Ebay / Paypal would be covered under the DSR if it was not for the government conspiracy over Princess Diana and all of the illegal immigrants...:rotfl:0

The only article I can see in the Mail (looking online) is about 'Seller protection' and nothing to do with buyers.According to "Money Mail" if youve bought anything with Paypal/E-Bay, you not covered by any Distance selling regulations.........surely with new goods this is incorrect?
It gives some seller advice about receiving Paypal payments which includes the following gem• Send any packages by recorded delivery. This costs more, but the buyer will pay. It also gives you proof that the item has been received.
Nothing new to any readers on here

AFAIK it is correct. Paypal sell you a money transfer service, not a Section 75 type or similar warranty on goods.
However, Paypal do have their own procedures to cover faulty goods.0 -

I *think* if the purchase is from a business seller on a BIN listing, DSR DOES apply:j30/7/10:j

I believe so too, but that applies because of the BIN, rather than the specific use of paypal
