broken ipod

Hi all...

Hubby has an i-pod which we bought in the airport in Hong Kong. It's hardly been used, but it seems to not be working properly.
when laying flat it seems ok, but when you pick it up the screen goes blank. I'm not sure if it turns itself off, or if it's just the screen that faulty.

Where can I take it to be fixed? does it have to go to the apple store in Regents Street? or are there local places to take it.

(Wimbledon area)

Cheers in advance.
