What card to get?

I need a CREDIT CARD to do irregular spending on because I'm finding that quite a few online websites don't accpet my SOLO debit card.

I can't see me spending more than 150 a month on the credit card. I will oviously pay it off in full each month. To pay a credit card off can I set up a standing order so it pays it off full each month?

I would be grateful if anyone can guide me in the right direction for which card to get. If you need anymore information please ask.

Thanks

Ross;)

New Questions

I got accepted for a Halifax cash back credit card 11/04/09 about a week ago. How long does it take to receive the card?

Can they closed the account if I don't spend enough on it?

If you have a solo then i'd suggest vanquis Card or even Aqua. Both are subprime but will help you, see here for details of a new thread I made to help with this exact question:

Links to both above cards are on this link too.

doubt you'd get it unless you bank with them which may help you with behavioural scores.... mate you need to tell a bit more, do you have any credit? why only a solo card?

If the latter then it suggests you have no credit thus the mainstream won't touch you just yet. read the thread, link posted earlier (above).

No I don't bank with them. I don't have any credit cards at the moment. I only have a SOLO card. Don't have any 'real' outgoings like mobile phone contract, gas, electric etc etc...

I only really need a credit card for booking hotel and train travel as they don't accept SOLO cards.

Deffo don't do it then, try Vanquis forst then Aqua - follow advice in other thread for specifics.... it is geared toward what you're asking here!

Do you have a good credit rating? Have you asked your bank whether they will upgrade you to a VISA or Maestro? Maybe worth asking your own bank for a CC 1st
