    From the official site...
    When to expect your refund

Refunds take three to six weeks to process. Please allow up to six weeks for a refund to arrive before making enquiries.
From the back of the V14 form you sent off...(you kept a copy didn't you?)
You will normally receive your refund within 30 working days. If you have not received your refund after 30 working days, please phone DVLA Customer Enquiries on 0870 240 0010.
My recent experience is that they take very nearly 30 working days. (not statistically sound... only one sample).
  • mine took 7 weeks for it to come evan after phoning them after 30 days.

The website says up to 6 weeks, although my last one took about 3 weeks :)

From posts here and elsewhere they seem to average about a month, but also depends on whether there is a holiday period in there

It's minimum 21 days, max 6weeks in normal circumstances. If there is a numberplate transfer involved it can take longer, or if the car has been scrapped too.

I must have been very lucky, my cheque arrived after 11 working days, last month.
