Praise - John Lewis

Just thought I'd write to say there are actually some good retaillers out there. I bought some things from John Lewis in Liverpool a few weeks ago (some jewellery making bits). On the shelf edge it said a pack of 3, when I eventually got round to making my bracelet I found there was only 2 per pack, and not enough to finish!

I emailed JL about this and the following day they emailed me back for my address and phone no, then I got a call from the store (I missed but left a lovely apologetic voicemail) and today got home to find another pack and a nice note posted to me.

It was their mistake but they accepted this and sorted it no problem. So thanks to John Lewis! :T

Exactly. I also ordered quite a lot of bits from JL for my new house. They made a mistake with my wardrobe order but it was spotted within 24 hrs of me leaving the store and they called immediately. I didn't even have to go back to the store to sign the new order, they sent it to me with a pre paid envelope for me to sign and return! Also got a call to confirm they had received it. Great service.

I would always go to JL given a choice..and Waitrose. You do get what you pay for AND you get the gurantee AND you get polite, articulate staff.

I bought a lettuce from Asda last week and the next day it was rotten...that would NEVER happen from Waitrose.

I agree, John Lewis Stores and Waitrose :)

BUT John Lewis Direct website - a separately run company - is dreadful.
