Hi peeps
We bought some Epson compatible cartridges for our Epson SX100 & Epson SX200 printers.
Although they worked without a problem for several weeks, recently each of the printers reported the cartridges weren't recognised.
On the SX100 I simply removed and reinserted and this is currently working without problems, but the SX200 simply won't recognise them.
I know it's difficult but I wondered what you folks thought about whether this could be the result of some kind of update from Epson to disallow compatibles, or simply manufacturing problems. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
If anyone has troubleshooting ideas they'd be very welcome (the retailer hasn't responded yet)

I can't answer the question but can tell you what happened with mine...
I bought an SX200 from Tesco at Christmas together with one of their compatible colour cartridge sets. The colour cartridges I got with it ran out last week so I replaced them with the compatibles.
I got poor print so I tried several clean cycles but it was still carp so I took the carts out and replaced them so it would go through the "charging" cycle again. Still carp. Repeated and then it refused to recognise the carts. I took them back to Tesco and got my money back. Bought some off eBay (half the price of the Tesco ones) and they are fine.
I think the chips must be a bit "fragile" and can fail leading to this problem.
The real blaim lies with Epson selling printers cheap but trying to force customers to use their extortionately priced ink. At the price I paid for the printer it would have been just about as cheap to replace it as fit new Epson carts.0
