I want to reinstall windows vista on my PC.
I have 2 SATA hard drives (both basic disks and say "primary partition" in "computer manager":
HD 1(c:) - (Vista)
HD 2: (d:) - (contains backup & data)
Question i'd like to ask is:
if i wanted to reinstall vista on HD 1, would my backup on the HD 2 be safe from vista doing anything to it during installation as i have my backup data on that drive.
Also do i just pop the CD in the drive and follow instructions or do i have to boot from cd in the bios to reinstall?

Hi there
If you boot from the CD - with vista you'll get an onscreen wizard, it will show you the two drives, you can then delete the data from the C drive, format and then reinstall windows. The E drive will be left as it is, unless you select otherwise.
Hope this helps
