Is it possible to pay road tax using VISA card? It's not desperate I do it, but it would make the cash flow a little easier, allowing me to take less from my ISA?

Anyone know?

Post Offices don't let you, but you could withdraw the cash from a cashpoint then pay in the PO with cash.

Dunno about road tax online tho...

Yes, using the online service. But there is a charge. It is debatable whether it is worth avoiding taking money from your ISA given present low rates.
  • http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/?SKIN=directgov says you can, but they will charge you an extra £2.50

thanks all, how quick and efficient you all are! It's not the cost I am thinking about, its just that I want to take as little as possible out of the ISA. I am wanting to keep as much in as possible as its to top up my pension when I retire! Once it goes in, then I like it to STAY in. I am only raiding it because the cost of borrowing for my new car is ridiculous, and I figure I may as well use whats already there, and then pay myself back, if you see what I mean. It goes against the grain to actually use it!!! I am trying to plan what gets paid when, to take advantage of my next pay day. Its only small potatoes, but hey, every little helps!

I've paid for my road tax with a Visa card and paid no extra.
