HBOS doesn't mind customers holding more than one of its cards, but you can't BT between them. No lender would allow that. It would be like trying to pay them off with their own money.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

Yup it is right. HBOS One card BT over to HBOS Affinity RSPCA card.
As I said in previous post, maybe it was luck or something but it went through.... best to try it then we'll know.
System glitches do occur but I see no reason why someone would post saying that it can be done if it can't....
In fact could it be that it was an ex company they bought out so they have different criteria? For example you can transfer an egg blanace to citi and they are one in the same. I dunno but i'm just saying it can be done and HBOS are apparently ok with it, note the word apparently....

nah mate Credit Card cheques aren't quite the same cos they count toward cash advance total and stuff so I thought they'd be scrutinised unlike a normal bankers cheque that we issue daily.....

Commercial relationships change certainly but, generally speaking, you can't transfer balances between cards that are underwritten by the same bank.
If you check the Ts & Cs, you'll see that BTs from other HBOS cards are specifically excluded.... or maybe he used a CC cheque - never thought of that! Would a CC cheque at promotional 0% apr work possibly?
Yes. If some HBOS cc cheques happened to drop through your letterbox, you could pay one into your current account. You would then have funds in your bank account with which to pay off the other HBOS credit card.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

Thanks mate, I do follow you and it makes perfect sense, so regards to cheques could they have written one from say their ONE CC to their RSPCA one using cheques or would they be stopped at scrutiny level?
I mean not going through the bank account..... would be good to know.

I doubt it. This would be paying them with their own money.
You could certainly route the funds via your current account though. This might work out a touch expensive of course.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

well yea thats what I thought but the way the guy explained it suggested he deffo paid from one to the other so I thought maybe he used a one cheque to pay rspca or whatever but it makes sense for him to have actually paid it via his bank, with the cash advance fee no doubt!
Thanks for clearing this up - logic does prevail afterall then :rotfl:
