I would like to allow my collie to come and go into the garden when we move soon, the house has a kitchen, which leads to a utility room which then leads to the garden. i would like to put a dog flap in the kitchen/utility room door and then the utility room/garden door, do you think that this would make he house a security risk??

I may be wrong on this one
No I am not going mad, just google electronic pet doors.;)0 -
I don't think you'll find an insurance company to approve it. If a collie can get through it, so can agile burglar..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Why not put the dog flap in just the utility/garden door and some dead bolts in the kitchen/utility door that way your collie can go between the garden and utility when your out, you can just open the kitchen door when your home so he/she can go to and fro...best of both worlds0

I have a client who has an evil Ridgeback as a pet and someone did attempt a burlargy thru his dog flap - the burglar was cornered by the dog in the downstairs toilet and had to be rescued by the owner when they returned home.Garantissez-moi de mes amis, je saurai me defendre de mes ennemis0

a lady i work for has a dog flap in the back door and 5 dogs. god help any burglar that tried to get in her house!!!
seriously though its best to check with the insurance company first. id also do as another poster suggested and restrict access to one room by bolting another door. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0
