Ebay - do I have to use their postage?

Hi everyone,:T
I have just sold my very first item on Ebay. It's just CD.
Now it is offering me to buy and print off label... Do I have to do it? Cannot I just go to Post Office and do it? (I haven't got a printer at home so printing purchased label would be difficult..). Will I still be able to mark the item as SENT? Thank you for your help.

Sorry I am thick, but I cannot find where do you tick dispatched! That is what is confusing me.0 -
I think I found it. Thank you both.0

That paypal thing emails the buyer whenever you print the label. Tells them the service you're posting.
I think in all my time in buying off ebay, only one person has ever used it for something I've bought.
For me it's a lot more hassle than just writing an address on a jiffybag and chucking it into the PO.0 -
In theory. In practise it seems to email them about a week after. That paypal thing emails the buyer whenever you print the label. Tells them the service you're posting.
We've had things turn up and then the email come through.
Unfortunately it's a service we use as it is more convenient for us, but I bet we have some confused buyers.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

I can't see the advantage of it.
It lets you pay for postage before you get to the PO? But you still have to queue in the PO anyway to give them the parcel..0 -

You also have to get your certificate of posting stamped as well. personally I would rather support my local Post offices by giving them the trade, we are losing so many POs already.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. A lot of people work "hand to mouth", so need the paypal funds to pay for postage, rather than withdraw funds, and pay cash at a post office.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
