enable laptop wireless

Hi everyone

I have got a compaq presario laptop bought only 2 years ago. i'm trying to connect to internet as my employer provides wireless internet. But the problem is that i can't connect to internet.

Should i buy a wireless USB adaptor to enable it wireless.

I had connected 1 year back to O2 wireless broadband and i didn't have any problem.

Please advice me.

Does it have a built-in wireless adapter?
If so, you might just need to load the driver.
However, that can be a real pain, as manufacturers seem to use different brands and models across their range of laptops.
Can you get someone to look at it (or maybe you could google for the machine model and the word "wireless".
I suppose the advantage of buying a USB (or PCMCIA) adaprter is that you will at least have a set of install media.

What are you trying to connect it to-a wireless router? If so you just need to select your wireless network, enter the encryption key (WEP or WPA probably) and it should connect.
Can the laptop see your network?
Have you possibly switched off the wireless button on the keyboard?
