Quick straw poll: is this expensive for estate agent fees?

I have used all the tips on here, and I can only get quotes for £1500 plus vAT to sell my property. It's only on for £69k (as shared ownership) so that seems extortionate to me!!!

But seem to be in bit of catch 22, many agents won't take it as they can be hard to sell.....what do you think? is this a lot?

I'm tempted to do it myself, I've got 3 viewings with just a poster in the window and I do work in marketing so tempted to just put it on a few of the big websites and a for sale by owner board.

Again...what do you think?!!! would appreciate your input !!!

they are not allowed to recommend anyone. But there are 2 others for sale, with the agent stating 1500 plus VAT. not sure if their owners have actually paid this or if they are trying it on, but it's what I've been quoted elsewhere anyway...

You could always approach the people selling and ask about how much they're paying.
    Sounds a lot to me.
  • I'd recommend the zungalow community for private listings - cheap and can measure interest in your property.
