I can't get the photo's from my phone to the netbook. It's an Acer Aspire One on Linux.
I've tried a bluetooth stick, doesn't look like it's recognised it, tried plugging phone into netbook with the USB cable, can't see that it's recognised that either!
Any one have any ideas?
Cheers, Saz x

when you plug it in, does it pop up with a menu (on the phone)?
also, on ubuntu, to access any form of removable media you have to go to places > removable media & select the drive you want to mount. after the drive has been mounted, it will appear on the desktop0 -
No menu pops up. I don't know what ubuntu is? I've looked in files and things on the Linux desktop, but there's no bit like my computer on windows lol! Can't see one called places.
Thank you for helping me :-):heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:0 -
ther are various different linux distributions with ubuntu being the one of my choice. your netbook is probably loaded with another distro.SazM030306 wrote: »No menu pops up. You really want to find linux drivers for your bluetooth stick, or find a bluetooth stick that has linux drivers. A lot of hardware (especially less popular stuff) won't have drivers. Linux makes the netbook cheaper but if you don't know what you're doing it can be a nightmare.
Same goes for the phone, you'll need the right drivers for it.
Personally I'd not bother with any of that, and use a memory card in the phone. Copy the photos onto the memory card, use the memory card in the pc. Most memory card readers will have linux drivers, I'd imagine. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Aspire One runs Linpus Lite (I dunno neever...).
Noticed there's a Bluetooth.sh under Applications on the support site http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_one_110.html (haven't tried myself, so not a recommendation, but I'd hope the official site would have been tested on the machine).
There should be a link to the support site on your machine and hopefully an install script if you go direct rather than load via another PC. Only just bought an AO myself and not much chance (or need) to update yet, but I can ferret round the desktop if you get stuck.
[edit] - just read Weegie's post - the AO will read SD cards, may work with a micro-SD adapter.0 -

Yes it does read about 5 different memory cards so I'll try that.
Thank you everyone x:heart2: THANK YOU MARTIN!! :heart2:0 -
As a last resort you could email/mms them to your email address from your phone.0
