Major problem with balance transfer from Amex

I took out the Nectar card from Amex for the points (which did eventually
arrive). Then last month I was broke, so transferred a balance of £7500 on to the new Amex card. I now want to transfer it to my new RBS card because that'll give me an interest free period til November 24th. But when I tried to do it just now, RBS initially said that was fine, they could deal with Amex, until I gave them the card number. They then said that they had no details as this wasn't loaded onto their system so couldn't do it. Tried my Sainsbury's Visa one as well but got the same reply.
I'm really worried now as to how to tackle this, any advice gratefully received.
Thanks

I haven't had any problems moving Balances etc to and from American Express,I would suggest you ring up RBS again and speak with a supervisor to clarify exactly what account no.'s sort codes etc that they require to do the BT and then speak with Customer Services at Amex and try and sort it out that way.
Just stay calm and polite and anything your not sure of ask them to explain it in full and take notes if that will help and then speak with the other Customer services dept and try and get what you want that way.
Sometimes you have to just be very dogged in what you want as not all the Customer Service staff have a indepth knowledge of these transfers if you are not getting anywhere ask to speak to another person.

Thanks. Apparently it's because the Nectar card's numbers aren't on the system of any of the other companies. They don't know why but they can't do anything because they don't have the system to transfer the money. Did you move balances to/from the Amex Nectar card?

No I don't have a Amex nectar card ,have a look at the other forums that are discussing the Nectar card and the points and I am sure someone there will be able to tell you how to redeem your points/ move your balance.
This is a little strange,if you were unable to move balances around from or to other cards and accounts why have Amex set up the Amex Nectar card?
There must be a way of moving your money around afterall that is how the financial companies make some of their money.
I think you may have to phone them again and get to the bottom of it.
Have you read your T&C's is there any information there that can help?0 -
Thanks for that, I will look at the other forums as you suggest.
When you phone you can never seem to get put through to the senior enough people.

Yes you have to be quite determined sometimes it all comes with experience.Just remember they have your money and you are the customer and if you want it moved that is what you want them to do.
Always be polite and just keep on.0 -
Tried both Sainsbury's and RBS again yesterday. They will only look at it when they have had a few requests - at least 10.
