    caveat...it's entirely possible they've stopped installing modems! A few years since I bought my laptop. I'll stand correcting if that's so.

    its an Acer 7520, I bought it from Tesco Direct just over a year since, have found it listed on Amazon with the specs HERE

    yeah, the standard models don't tend to have dialup modems installed.

    Or, more accurately, they don't tend to have the connector soldered on, and tend to have a jumper/solder joint on the motherboard to tell it to ignore the fact it has one, since it's generally standard boards and chipsets.

    And since a USB dialup modem costs the same or more or less as a usb ADSL modem... :)
