Hi peeps,
I've just paid off my Egg card completly. It was £3000 limit. Now I fancy some tart lovin action
I also have a loan with them at a very uncompetitive 7.9% with about 4K outstanding.
I had been a loyal "minimum payments" person until I wised up. Whats the chances if I ring them up and say I want to cancel that they will give me 18 months 0%?. I have been a customer for over 7 years and only missed 2 payments in that time ?
Also can they change the APR if i threaten to leave, ie I get a better rate of say 5.5% ?
Cheers

Card companies will only give things away (0% BT deals, lower APR rates, etc) if there is something in it for them.
What is the incentive for them to offer you favourable terms?0 -

TBH I think your chances are very close to zero. You'd be very lucky to get 6 mo. 0% out of them........0 -
Yeh things have changed... its not as easy money as it used to be.
Still on big limits with the capped transfers, it is still possible to make a decent profit.0 -

Why would they do that? Maybe a few months, but a year and a half?? They might lower your interest rate, I suppose, but no way would they offer you something like that, not least because you can hardly claim that you would be able to get the same offer elsewhere!
On the other hand, if you want to stooze, don't cancel it, because I believe that an Egg Card can be used as a 'mule' card, as you can do SBTs from it.DFW stats:
