  • Hi everyone how have you all been? (we need questioning smiley back)

Any gossip or good news? We have had some pretty cold days here but the crocus have managed to push their way through the perma frost, always a cheery sight. I love this time of year promises of good things to come.

Hopefully you're all just hibernating to keep warm. Get those fingers typing "we really want to see those fingers" (homage to shooting stars):rotfl:

    Hi hun
    Hope your well.

I hope Gerry and Paul are okay too, missing them both, hope all is okay with them XX

    My dad's 69th Birthday today.......:T
We had a family party on the weekend for him just gone, as it worked out the right day for most of the family to get together, and I am aware today the unit are doing a little tea party for him too mum and 2 of my sister's are going along too.
They limit on visitors, due to other patients as well, which is fair enough.

Happy birthday to my lovely Dad.

    Thank you hunni.:A

Yes he really enjoyed himself on the weekend.

They have since removed the sectioning and it "may" be a case now of trying dad at home, if the right care package can be set up, taking a good while though, but fingers crossed.

Unfortunately the most ideal home for him, there is a long list, but they are keeping dad's name on it anyway.
    Thanks for asking. XXXX

  • Yes long lists normally mean good establishment its the ones that you can have access to straight away that start alarm bells ringing, although having said that we have a lovely home right next to us for people who are still able but they have meals provided and people on site to watch over them but no nursing they had lovely rooms available, thought about staying a few nights myself (ha ha) save me cooking... they now have one man resident its always been ladies I think he loves it.

Hubbys working on a river at the moment clearing wrecks its supposed to be a beauty spot but always end up being a mess with sunken boats also drunks and drug takers congregate along the banks, tossing in the odd brick when theyre diving. Usually some "hard nut" comes along looking for a fight, they have notices pinned to their boats by the council to get them moved or if they they dont they will be removed, these hulls are normally so bad they practically dissolve, but it always causes aggro. So as you can imagine I'm feeling pretty sick at the moment. The last time we did the job we vowed we wouldnt do it again but needs must.

Lol, sounds nice hun, think I will join you then :rotfl::D;).

We have checked several homes out, but not all have a great assessment record, one of them, they did not inform the families of when their residents went to hospital.

And others are way out for mum as well, but this one would be lovely, the one we viewed and as its EMI nursing as well, it would be very beneficial for dad, but like you said the good ones tend to have a one heck of a list.

Wow, good luck to your hubby then, he is I must say a very brave man........:T:T and deserves a award for what he does.:beer:XXX
