I think that if it was my daughter I would want a few more answers and would delay her having the jab till I had them.0

I dont know Di but speaking from experience, i am allergic to many things, I am unable to have the flu jab because of the ingredients and my anaphylaxisis I would think it is very very rare for this to happen and most girls would be fine. If you think millions of people have the flu jab there cant be many who would have a severe allergic reaction like me thank fully I do understand though I will be bricking it when my daughter has her next one. Although my daughters not due for a while yet. I would suggest holding it off though until investigations are comlete.0

Hi Marshalka,
Have you tried to find out what is the latest time your (or anyone's) daughter can have the jab to have its fullest effect. I mean if they waited until they were 18 or 20 would it make a vast difference to the outcome?
Just been googling and they say the optimum time is before the girls become sexually active but it could still offer protection when given up to the age of 25. (I'm sorry I haven't a clue how to do links).
My ramblings probably haven't helped but whatever you decide it will be because it is what YOU believe is best for your daughter and I think that is all we can ever do.

Just read on the online news that the poor young girl did not die due to the jab, but due to a underlying medical condition, although investigations are ongoing. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0

Hi Karen
From what I understand they try to give the vaccinations before the girls are sexually active. So I suppose if an older teenager is not sexually active the injection would be as effective as a younger teenager.
