First group are probably worthwhile for those patient enough to wait.

I had a look but rejected it on the basis that it is not so much a drop but a return to the May price.

Interesting if after the enquiry they then won the west coast. But my money would be on Mr B

Some people hold it as a high-yield stock but it's never appealed to me.

I cycle a lot and their driver training is clearly lacking!

  • They own greyhound. It could be taken on the premise that generally more efficient ways of transporting will occur as oil prices continue to rise and currency continues to weaken.
Assuming the company isnt useless they might be the right sector at least.

Their business plan seems to be to borrow a lot of money and then invest it in things that don't seem to generate much return.

More bizarre goings on at Cadogan, quite a few shares traded (mostly buys) and the price goes down. Informative RNS telling us nought, drilling finished way back in the summer but will take another 2 months to review the results, is that good or bad?

Cadogan announces that further to the Operations section of the 2012
Half-Yearly Report relating to the Zagoryanska licence, the Zagoryanska 11 test
programme is still underway. The results will be announced once the full
programme and validation has been concluded, which is expected to be before the
    end of November 2012.

Not held Cad for a while now, can't decide whether to risk a punt or not.

My Lloyds shares are now a mere 3p away from profit. Had those for ages now (for me), and hoping to see it in the black for the first time in two years in the next few weeks!

I read some article last night. 2bn debt, 200m profits and the yield is over 10% which is nice but a large liability also all in all.
This kind of debt to earnings ratio breaks a few safety rules? for good investing like Robbie Burns goes over

Public transport is more efficient, oil is going to stay high simple as that. Worse shares to own and far better also like stagecoach ?

I was stopped out of my buy with tiny profit but I kept a little bit, unfortunately I already own them. Should have kept TEP instead

I bought more CAD today on an old order, no reason not to ?

Zen turned into SNTY Cloud computing, terrible share but could turn around if its a sound business premise

CAD is boring if anything, thats not a reason to sell. Every trade is a buy/sell and the price of something this stagnant is largely set by the marketmaker & also likely the biggest seller ?
Computer says get it cheaper today

Lloyds Ive had donkeys years. I kinda realised I should have backed the truck up at near 20p and taken lots.
Now 41p its hold till 60p or so I think, it wont be overvalued then though lots of bad news possible the underlying dynamic is good to me
If you want a cheap UK bank - Santander and big yield. When is Lloyds going to cough up a couple pennies for us

Beowulf up 20% on no news really, just a license. It has plenty of space to keep going, I dont own much so cant sell this cheap

    Apple could be a buy

Do you need to own a share in this sector?

I did, and in my ISA, which is nice. I'm now holding at an average of around 29p.

I've decided to hold out for 80p

Lots of their prefs etc. have divi blockers on the ords. ISTR that Jan 13 is the earliest they can pay a divi, but they are getting pressure to skip it again to build their capital base.

I think they'll pay as they restarted the pref divis (including LLPC which I hold a metric shed-load of!) ASAP, which shows willing.

So where are we heading...those lower indicators on the chart are begining to show overbought...maybe the USA election will be the final fling before the sell off....all a guessing game..;)

    "The" sell off?

    Maybe "a" sell off!

I think (hope!) there will be good/better buying opportunities in the next couple of years, but for better or worse, I'm maintaining a high equity exposure at the moment.
