Help re Sat Nav? European cover

Hi All
Appreciate that there are threads with this topic and have searched the forum and other sat nav forums that have been recommended but still finding it difficult to choose which sat nav to buy...it all seems so complicated and too many to choose from....

Had a Tom Tom Go 510 that has been back twice for repair the 2nd time not repaired due to them wanting £64 fee....was easy to use but never seemed to be "quite right" in reaching our destination particularly when we used it for 17 days all over in Europe last year following a friend whose sat nav seemed to get him right to the destination and ours was a mile or so down the road...anyway i digress....

Anybody got any suggestions or recommendations??

I prefer Garmin and happy with my unit and "old" Nuvi, their web site, service and support, POI from other sites made available easily. It's easy to use. But chatting about them is not using them, a good one you, would take out on every trip. Halfords staff know a lot and will do a demo for you.

You can't really go wrong with a Garmin, mines a Becker (German) & i can't fault it at all........

Thanks posters....
Did think about Halfords but have had bad experiences with so called "experts" that work in the likes of Currys etc and not know a thing about their products.
No harm in dropping in tho and will like a demo...;)
