really tricky student money predicament

Going to the CAB will be helpful, but if your Students' Union has an Advice Centre (usually with CAB trained staff) they will really be a better option as they will have detailed knowledge of the student funding regulations and the university's own funds. LEAs may have discretion to continue your funding if you cannot attend for medical reasons and there may be an Access to Learning Fund at your institution that can help.

You may not like this, but come clean with your problems!!
I am a third year student and have seen meny friends bottle things up and then mess up. Second Degree for me seen so meny students fail/ leave when they dont have to. Money is normaly the cause
The University/ support depts want to help you but have to let them, they will fall over themselfs to help you if you let them.
I hope this helps!!0 -
Thank you for all the advice and information sources.
I have made an appointment with my local CAB for next wednesday to try and get this sorted. I'll also be making an appointment with student services.
I will find the next thing out from student services and my LEA, but offhand does anyone know what a part-time student is entitled to?
Essentially, not much. A loan of £500 per year, restricted access to things like access funds (although your uni might have some descretion) and you have to pay tuition fees, usally just over £250 per module studied.
