Installing a CD Rewrite on a Dell

Hi All,

Do i need a special variety of CD Rewriter or brackets to fit a Rewrtier to my dell 2400? I have a CDR from my old base unit (non dell) that i was going to try and install.

I'm not experienced at doing this at all!

thanks in advance

  • dunno if Dells are different to most P.Cs but I just fitted a rewriter I bought on ebay to my PC and it was really straight forward and I know nothing about things like this. I was replacing DVD rom with CD RW and it was a case of just unscrewing it and swapping it over. ;)
    Don't ask me, Im SKINT
  • If it will physically fit (and I think Dells are fine) then there is no reason it should not work with your Dell. :)

Should be really easy.Dont forget to discharge any static from your self by touching the outside of the computer case before touching things inside it.
